Arizona State junior Maggie Ewen relied on a sixth-round throw of 244-7 (74.56m) to move from fourth to second in the women's hammer throw at the USATF Outdoor Championships at Hornet Stadium at Sacramento State. Ewen set the collegiate record June 8 at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships with a mark of 240-6 (73.32m), but her performance won't be recognized as eclipsing that mark because it happened outside of the collegiate season.
