Oregon's Damarcus Simpson benefited from a wind-aided final attempt of 27-5.25 (8.36m) to move from sixth to third in the men's long jump final at the USATF Outdoor Championships at Hornet Stadium at Sacramento State. Simpson still needs to achieve a wind-legal jump of 26-9 (8.15m) in order to secure his qualifying spot on the U.S. National team for the IAAF World Championships in London.
