Trayvon Bromell, a New Balance professional athlete, won the men's 100-meter dash title in a wind-legal 9.80 seconds at the United States Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Bromell had finished second at the 2016 Trials in 9.84 seconds, but captured his first national title by returning to Hayward Field, where he secured the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor crown competing for Baylor by clocking 9.97 in 2014. Bromell finished eighth in the Olympic 100 final in Rio de Janeiro.
